Check out my radio interview on Career Buzz

by Dean Dwyer on January 24, 2010 · Comments

On Friday I did my interview with Mark Franklin who hosts a radio program called “Career Buzz.”

The interview ended up being 60 minutes long and includes myself and another guest, Chris Jarvis of Realized Worth.  I must admit, I quite enjoyed myself.

When I first spoke with Mark about the radio interview and the idea of quitting, he asked if I knew anyone who had a story that fit the theme.  At the time I did not, but I told Mark I would get back to him once I had a chance to think about it.

Who is Chris Jarvis…

About 10 minutes after speaking with Mark, Chris sent me an email in regards to something else.  I now knew who I would ask to come on the show with me.

Chris’ portion of the show is the first 30 minutes of the audio.  I highly recommend that you listen to his story.  Chris used to be a pastor who eventually quit to start working with business and non-profits to create outstanding volunteer programs.  He has a very inspirational story that anyone thinking of changing careers should listen to.

If you are thinking about trying to institute a volunteer program at your company, he is definitely the man to contact.

Grading my performance…

I really wasn’t too sure if I wanted to listen to my portion or not, but I did this morning and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at myself.  I generally tend to grade myself pretty hard on things such as this, but my goal from the outset was to answer each and every question honestly.  I liked the answers I gave.

Listen to the program…

There are two ways to listen to the program.

1.  Simply click on the link below and listen to it.  My part starts at minute 36.

Click here to download the MP3 Audio.

2.  If you would like to listen to listen on iTunes or save to your iPod, then simply right click the link above and save it it.  You can then open and listen on any audio player of your choice.

I hope you enjoy it as much as Chris and I did.

To ideas worth quitting,

Dean

    Hi Dean,
I listened to your interview today - you sounded great! It was really interesting to me how happy you sounded; Mark Franklin commented on it as well. It just goes to show how doing something you feel passionate about reflects on your person. I listened to the interview at work and smiled along with you.
  • Ah thanks Sofy. Not only do I have a face for radio, but I have a smile for radio to. :-)
